Inspiration
I wanted to build something fun and interactive. Puzzles have always fascinated me because they challenge patience, logic, and creativity.
What it does
Jigsaw Puzzle lets players drag and drop pieces to solve puzzles, with real-time feedback and adaptive hints. Borders turn green when a piece is placed correctly, red while dragging, and yellow during hint mode. The hint system progressively reveals guidance, like outlines or suggested placements. The game also tracks score and progress as you solve.
How we built it
We built the game in Python using Pygame for rendering and interactivity. Kiro acted as a coding partner, helping generate project structure, logic for drag-and-drop snapping, and functions for hint timers and feedback.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a fully working jigsaw puzzle game from scratch Adding visual feedback (border colors) that makes the gameplay more intuitive. Learning how to use Kiro to accelerate game dev
What we learned
How to integrate AI-assisted development (Kiro) effectively into game design. Deeper understanding of event handling and collision detection in Pygame.
What's next for Jigsaw Puzzle
Adding more puzzle levels with different artworks and difficulty modes. Introducing multiplayer or timed challenges for competitive play.
