What it does
The webapp lets a user (admin) start a review process by specifying a publically hosted Webmap ID and adding reviewers. The reviewers can access the map within the web app and suggest changes. The changes can be reviewed through collaboration with other reviewers and the admin. Once given edit access (by the admin), the reviewers can edit the map, drawing points, lines and polygons. Once all reviewers have approved the map, the admin begins the signing ceremony which creates a document with review history, the latest snapshot of the map and reviewer signatures.
How we built it
This was built using Angular, NodeJS and MongoDB
Challenges we ran into
Designing the webapp to allow for extensive collaboration and communication between multiple reviewers was a challenge.
What's next for JGI Conservation planner
The web app can be further fleshed out with more map widgets , a more detailed checkpoint snapshot system and other modes of communication.
