Project Name
JFD
Inspiration
I was looking through the jobs' portal, and it made me realized there should be a platform that solely focuses on available jobs for the disable people. We resulted in the production of JFD
What it does
JFD is a project designed to provide a platform offering various jobs all over the USA for disabled people. It can filter out the jobs based on the location of a specific person.
How we built it
JFD was built using the Java framework Spring Boot, connected to a MySQL database. And for the front-end HTML, CSS and JavaScript was used. Although the data used in this website is fictional and not real. Since it was taking long to find API for actual data.
Challenges we ran into
We first thought to connect our website to real-time data by the help of using API. That helps to look up through actual jobs available. But then we created our own database and added these fictional jobs, then connected it to our Spring-boot application.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Finally, I accomplished in making JFD. My team member worked on the front end and I worked on the back end. In the end, the website turned out to be a good tool for disable people.
What we learned
We learned project management and how to complete a task in a specific time. Also, a bitter reality that there aren't many jobs for our disable people. Rarely there are any platform available for them.
What's next for JFD
We were planning to connect it to real time database and make the platform focused for all over the world.
