Inspiration
We had conflicting goals for this hackathon, one of us wanted to pursue a project in game development while the other wanted to focus more on ML/AI. At the end, we were able to combine both of our passions into an educational project for not us but for all. Our app is "braindr*AI*n"!
What it does
Our game app allows the user to type in any topic they would like to learn about. The topic is then sent to OpenAI's ChatGPT API where it generates facts about the given topic. The user is then challenged to memorize and remember as much as possible before they decide to "drain" words away. The user is then prompted to fill in the "drained" words, where AI-generated hints are provided on incorrect responses.
How we built it
Python, Flask, Swift, SwiftUI, Git, GitHub, OpenAI API
Challenges we ran into
- Coming up with an original idea
- XCode was painfully hard to use while learning SwifUI was pretty fun due to the live feedback.
- Reading through the OpenAI API documentation was tedious yet rewarding. ## Accomplishments that we're proud of The entire thing, especially the fact that IT WORKS! ## What's next for braindrAIn We could implement topics that are pre-made as well as implement a score feature. Maybe even a calendar function that tracks daily usage and improvements to one's memory!
