Inspiration- Love for the cartoon Tom and Jerry and also the games that we used to play back in the time of such cartoons when Internet was just booming up.

What it does- It is a classic 'get-there' game where the user is Jerry and he needs to get to the 'Daddy Cheese' in the 'trap-Tom-cheese' maze.

How we built- it Using-

  1. Ursina Engine (3D game engine) for Python
  2. TinkerCAD for building a 3D maze
  3. HTML and CSS for frontend

Challenges we ran into-

  1. Getting high quality animations
  2. Connecting frontend to Ursina Engine flawlessly
  3. Getting fine first person control in such a large and complex maze.

Accomplishments that we're proud of- Building our 1st game in just 1.5 days and that too, learning on our own in a pair of two.

What we learned- Building a game from scratch in the Ursina Engine for Python

What's next for Jerry's Cheese Chase-

  1. We aim to build a full-fledged home game where the base map consists of Tom's house and Tom is chasing Jerry while Jerry creates obstacles in the way of Tom.
  2. We might also include some other classic cartoon characters like SpongeBob as a cheapshot cheese and Oggy and the Cockroaches which help Tom (the user) or Jerry in the chase.
  3. Might build it as a duo-player game where 2 players can figure out the maze in a framework just like Among Us.
