Inspiration

We like the experience of getting a guide telling us the extensive knowledge they knew, not only about the history, but also behind the scenes from the museum.

What it does

Supplies a virtual guide to the museum guests, to act as an alternative when real guides are not possible. Also extends the existing museum experience.

How we built it

We build it using Expo for the app side, and interacting with (in this example) 3 beacons. The beacons give a code to the app, which then knows what resources to display. Meaning it worked without any backend and with very simple hardware.

Challenges we ran into

Having not worked with hardware before we had some trouble setting up the development environment. Also allowing the app to read from the beacons.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very happy with the user experience of the solution, as it gives an idea of how well it could would in a finished setting. Also we focused on scalability so cheap beacons could be used.

What we learned

alot about bluetooth technology
