Have you ever been hungry and you didn't know what were the school canteens serving? Here's the app for you!

What it does

The app allows to display all meals within entire complex of TUKE canteens, GPS distance to all canteens sorted by the closest. Logging in the app is not necessary until your actual ISIC balance and daily spendings are requested to be displayed. Meal content can be shown with applied filters of your personal preference. You can add your favorite meals to a list, allowing you to be notified if your enjoyable meal appears in one of our canteens. Ignore list can be applied to hide any unwanted content. Enjoyed your meal? Let others know your experience by rating purchased meal to help them to decide about their next meal.

How we built it

We are webscraping website "jedalne.tuke.sk" for the displayed data. The data are stored on our server, which is set to re-scrap the data every day so they are always up to date. Our app communicates with the server allowing to view current data to its users. We also webscrape "stravovanie.tuke.sk" that provides us extra data in order to display information about credit (balance) if the user decides to log in.

Challenges we ran into

We had a really hard time with react-native. The reason for that is it worked on each device differently so finding the optimal solution that worked on all of the devices we had available was a real challenge
