Inspiration
Everyone in the group either has allergies or know who someone who does, and thus we felt compelled to create a system that would make dining easier for those with allergies and certain medical conditions.
What it does
It creates an interactive menu where specific allergens or nutrition preferences can be searched within the menu to filter out menu items that contain these allergens.
How we built it
We primarily used HTML and CSS to create our website. The images were drawn by one of our teammates and were inserted into the website using .
Challenges we ran into
We attempted a WebDev project without WebDev skills. All of our teammates had little to no experience in HTML or CSS. One of our teammates started with "Hello, World!" at the beginning of the hackathon.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we created a functioning website with interactive aspects to it. We created a project with the little experience that we had and made something that looks nice!
What we learned
We learned a lot more about WebDev and a whole lot more about troubleshooting and solving difficult problems.
What's next for JEANs Menu Assistant
The next steps are to add javascript to add the search and sorting functions to our website. After this we will finalize its design and improve it functionality.
