Inspiration

While organizing our first partner event in Romania, we were inspired by the frustration of manually creating detailed project plans for every event. Event planning involves countless tasks and it's easy to get overwhelmed. We wanted to create an AI assistant that streamlines this process, giving event planners more time to focus on creativity and execution.

What it does

JARVIS is an AI-powered Jira assistant that automatically generates comprehensive task lists for any event. Simply tell JARVIS the type of event you're planning (conference, wedding, party, etc.) and it creates a customized Jira project with all the essential tasks and subtasks. This includes everything from finding a venue and managing guests to organizing catering and promoting the event.

How we built it

We leveraged the power of Forge and AI to understand different event types and generate relevant task breakdowns. We then integrated this AI with the Jira API to automatically create projects and populate them with tasks and subtasks.

Challenges we ran into

Defining comprehensive task lists for various event types: Ensuring the generated tasks are truly comprehensive and cater to different event needs. Integrating the AI model with the Jira API: Smoothly connecting the AI-generated tasks with Jira's project structure. Handling user customization: Allowing users to easily modify the generated task list to fit their specific event requirements.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully creating an AI that understands different event types and generates relevant task breakdowns. Seamlessly integrating JARVIS with Jira to automate task and subtask population. Developing an intuitive user interface that allows for easy customization of the generated task list.

What we learned

The importance of clearly defining the scope of an AI project. The challenges and rewards of integrating different technologies. The value of user feedback in shaping the development process.

What's next for JARVIS

Expanding JARVIS to handle other aspects of event planning, such as budget management, guest communication, and vendor sourcing. Adding more advanced features like suggesting vendors or resources for each task. Improving the AI model's ability to understand complex event requirements and generate even more customized task lists.
