I got tired of having to create an restful API for every website I've made or will make.
What it does
This API pulls data from Discord, WikiHow, PCPartPicker, Minecraft, and even Wordle. I also have a VS Code Extension which allows a user to send data about their workspace and then pull it and show it on their own website(s).
How I built it
I built this using Node.JS, as I was the most comfortable with it, and had deep knowledge of how things worked. Same thing can pretty much be said about every single selection with everything this used.
Challenges I ran into
A few challenges, that I've ran into were some sites didn't have "official" APIs, so I had to scrape and figure out what data I personally needed
What I learned
I've learned a lot about scraping websites, dealing with restful APIs
What's next for JAPI.rest
I hope to maybe add GraphQL and Websocket support and rewrite this API into Rust
