Inspired from real temples in Japan and my own interpretation of them.
This project was my first attempt in creating an entire environment. Therefore, I decided to build it as a Japanese temple mock-up.
I used 3DS Max to model the entire temple, and created several texture maps in Photoshop for it.
The real challenge in this project was to make sure that the model was interesting from every angle.
I am particularly proud of the outcome of the model, and the tools that I have learned along the way, such as the cloth modifier tool. For example, it allowed me to give a realistic aspect to the pillow in the resting area.
I learned that the visual aspect of a model is crucial to determine its value.
My next step would be to improve my modeling skills with other similar software, and challenge myself by creating new projects.
