Inspiration

The impact of Covid-19 has been significant across the globe. Yet, Japan has remained one of the strongest economies in Asia thanks to its neutral, long-term partnerships with both the Eastern and Western worlds. Hence, one might question how a resilient country like Japan has been responding to this global recession, differently from other countries and even itself compared to the Asian Crisis 1997 and Financial Crisis 2008.

What it does

Our project begins with a review of the economic fundamentals to assess the health of Japan's economy.

How we built it

We used time series and panel dataset from two sources, FRED data and Ourworldindata. We also used: import numpy as np import pandas as pd import matplotlib.pylab as plt

Challenges we ran into

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We could find the data that we wanted from reliable sources and could elaborate on them to tell the story that solved the stated problem

What we learned

teamwork, data processing and analysis

What's next for Japan's economic prospects

Slower upward trends
