🌟 Inspiration

This project was inspired by a real-life problem that I personally faced.

I studied in a Tamil medium background, and when I entered college, everything was in English. It was very difficult for me to understand concepts, especially coding and technical subjects. Even using websites or online platforms was confusing.

Many times, I had to ask others for help, and I felt uncomfortable and lacked confidence. That made me realize that there are many students like me who face the same problem.

Not only students, but also many people in rural areas struggle to access digital services because:

  • They don’t understand English
  • They don’t know how to use websites
  • They don’t know the correct process

Even though information is available, accessibility is missing.

This motivated me to create a solution that can help people understand and use digital services easily in their own language.


💡 About the Project

JanAssist AI is an intelligent assistant designed to make digital services accessible to everyone.

It is a unified platform where users can:

  • Search for government services, websites, and applications
  • Get step-by-step guidance in their preferred language
  • Understand processes through simple explanations

Users can type or speak in their own language, and the AI understands the query and provides accurate results.

The app also supports:

  • Multiple Indian languages
  • Voice input and voice output
  • Different explanation styles (Simple, Professional, Story-based)

For example, when a user searches for a scholarship:

  • The app explains what it is
  • Shows steps to apply
  • Lists required documents
  • Provides voice guidance

Even when the user opens the official website, the voice guidance continues in the background (like music apps), helping them complete the process without confusion.

Additionally, the platform includes Education & Coding support, where students can:

  • Paste code or errors
  • Get explanations in their own language

To avoid confusion between multiple options, Agentic AI is used to:

  • Analyze available platforms
  • Suggest the best and most relevant option

🛠️ How I Built It

  • Designed UI/UX focusing on simplicity and accessibility
  • Created a multilingual interface for Indian users
  • Integrated AI-based understanding for natural language queries
  • Designed voice input and output system
  • Built structured content flow (Overview, Steps, Documents, Tips)
  • Implemented smart search and recommendation logic
