About JanaMitra AI

Inspiration

Government schemes, complaint procedures, application forms, and official notices can be difficult for citizens to understand. Language barriers and complicated information can make accessing public services challenging. I wanted to build a simple, accessible platform that helps people navigate these services more easily.

What it does

JanaMitra AI is a multilingual government-services guidance platform designed to help citizens understand information in English and Telugu. It brings together four main modules:

• Scheme Finder: Helps users explore government schemes that may be relevant to their circumstances.
• Complaint Helper: Guides users in preparing complaints.
• Form Fill Assistant: Helps users understand the information needed to complete forms.
• Notice Explainer: Makes official notices easier to understand.

The platform is designed to make public-service information easier to navigate. Scheme suggestions should be treated as preliminary guidance, not confirmation of eligibility.

How I built it

I developed JanaMitra AI as a web-based prototype, focusing on a straightforward user experience and organizing the main services into four modules. I used an AI-assisted development workflow to build and refine the application.

Challenges I faced

One important challenge was designing scheme discovery so that suggestions would not be misleading. A user's age or a single profile detail should not automatically determine eligibility. The platform needs to distinguish potentially relevant schemes from cases where more information is required and remind users to verify requirements through official sources.

Another challenge was making government-service information approachable for users who prefer Telugu or English.

What I learned

Building JanaMitra AI helped me explore AI-assisted application development, user-focused design, multilingual accessibility, and the importance of communicating uncertainty when providing public-service guidance.

Future scope

I would like to improve scheme matching, expand verified government information, strengthen accessibility, and provide clearer links to official application and complaint channels.
