What it does

Jalraksha was born from a simple but painful reality.

In Assam, floods are not just a natural disaster—they are a part of everyday life. Every year, rivers overflow without warning. Homes disappear overnight. Crops are destroyed. Schools shut down. Families are forced to leave with nothing but fear and uncertainty.

What hurts the most is not the flood itself, but the lack of timely information.

People often hear about danger only when it’s already too late.

I kept asking myself a simple question: “What if people were warned earlier?” What if a farmer knew the risk before going to his fields? What if a family had a few extra hours to move to safety? What if technology could protect lives, not just measure damage?

That question became Jalraksha.

“Jalraksha” means water protection—a promise to use technology as a shield for common people. This app is designed to alert communities about flood risk levels in advance, helping them prepare, respond, and stay safe.

Right now, Jalraksha is only a prototype. It is not perfect. It does not yet give real-time accuracy. But every meaningful solution starts small.

This prototype represents a belief: 👉 That local problems deserve local solutions 👉 That technology should reach villages, not just cities 👉 That even one early warning can save a life

Jalraksha is not just an app. It is a step toward a future where people are informed, prepared, and protected— in Assam, and eventually, across the world.
