Inspiration

Ever walked into a gallery feeling overwhelmed? Spent hours searching for art but can't find what you want because you don't know how to describe it? That's the problem.

Artists struggle to describe their work. Buyers can't articulate what they want. We must help them cast a bigger net so that they can see and get what they want! Thus presenting, Jala!

What it does

Jala is an AI-powered art discovery platform that matches artwork to people who will love it.

For Buyers: • Take a style quiz (no art vocabulary needed!) • Get a personalized feed of artwork matched to your taste without searching

For Artists: • Upload your work with basic info and let AI automatically generates tags • Your art appears in feeds of people who love your style

Artists stop struggling to describe their work. Buyers stop searching. Art can finally find its people easier :D

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

Getting the ai to work locally (to avoid remote API usage) took a while, around 10 minutes for a single picture that has to be shrunk down, but it did work quite accurately

What we learned

Artists does not want AI replacement, but AI can help as long as it stays away from the art creation aspect that makes it humanly meaningful to begin with
