Jailbirds is a game about two recently escaped convicts running from the police. They've made a daring escape but they've failed to remove their stiff shackles before hitting the highway. Players will have to coordinate to overcome the handicap of being permanently stuck together a static distance. Only with proper teamwork and communication can these two prisoners make it to freedom.
Jailbirds is meant to be played with 2 people using WASD and arrow keys to control each prisoner. Players can move in the cardinal directions by pressing the corresponding buttons at the same time; to go up, Player 1 must press the W key while Player 2 presses the up arrow key, and so on. If only one player presses a key in a direction, they will move radially around the other player. Players will have to work together to avoid obstacles in the road, police cars barreling down the highway, and many officers patrolling the streets for as long as possible before eventually succumbing to justice.
In order to run Jailbirds correctly, please ensure that the img folder is in the same directory as the .jar file.
Jailbirds includes random spawning rates, and collision detection that affects gameplay depending on which side the player collides with another object. There is a high score feature, and the game can be restarted by pressing Enter.
