Jah Sweet | Under the Banyan Tree

Inspiration

Inspired by the thunderous fusion of heavy hip-hop's raw grit and electronic dance music's pulsating energy, this project channels the chaotic pulse of underground clubs into a visual symphony.

What it does

It transforms a gritty odyssey into a proper dance video pulsing with club vibes—featuring alt hip-hop fusion, hearty bass sustains, rhythmic call-and-response vocals, solid beats, and explosive drops that pull viewers into an ethereal ritual.

How we built it

Blended AI and traditional tools for a seamless hybrid workflow: Music kicked off in Udio for raw alt hip-hop tracks, then stems were separated, polished, and rearranged in Logic Pro for that grounded, visceral thump. Stills were generated in PromeAI, keyframed into fluid motion via Pika for transitions, and finally edited in Vegas Pro to sync every moment with heart-pounding precision.

Challenges we ran into

Keyframing is a wild gamble—sometimes drastic image shifts nail it on the first try, delivering that wow moment, while similar stills clash stubbornly, forcing endless tweaks to bridge the gaps without losing the rhythm.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Nailing razor-sharp synchronization between beats and visuals, landing the band name "Jah Sweet" seamlessly on custom costumes for authentic flair, and crafting dance moves that feel genuinely raw and club-ready.

What we learned

Beyond the tech, discovered how spandex amplifies the dancers' grace.
