What it does

The Jagiya-bot is an initiative which, helps connect people in these hard times of pandemic. The Jagiya bot is an autonomous bot which, runs on the data received from the GPS and also the nearby surroundings. The bot was basically thought of to help the consumers get their stuff delivered to them, but there are endless possibilities for this bot. This bot is designed to deliver without human intervention, sanitize itself while on the go, and also collect the critical data regarding the spread of the disease, so that it can be optimally mapped and worked upon.

How we built it

The process began when we ended up finishing the Gesture controlled robot, and then this lockdown happened and sparked this idea in us of building something which will help the society in gathering resources without them going out risking themselves to the infection. So we began with the base model, the one which used hand gestures and implemented Neo 6m GPS module and MPU9250 inertial unit, for it to become autonomous, also adding the required sensors which act as its senses, to detect any obstacles. The following equipments are used in the making :

  1. Arduino Uno/ Mega
  2. Neo 6m GPS Module
  3. MPU9350 9DOF inertial unit
  4. Ultrasonic sensors
  5. WiFi module (further will be replaced with GSM module)
  6. L293d motor drive module
  7. Battery
  8. Solar Panel
  9. jumpers, PCBs, and basic electronic components

Challenges we ran into

The most challenging part of this project is getting all the things together, being lone wolves, we had to do research and experiment with all the things on our own, also keeping in mind the fact that this is the last year of our school life, which also multiplies the pressure from all spheres.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The bot can run completely autonomously without human intervention and help in data hunting.

What we learned

Working with the sensors and implementing different ideas is a tedious but fun process, which in the end help get a better understanding of everything

What's next for jagiya-bot

The bot is getting a centralized hub to which it will be connected through IoT and the hub will act as a control center for the bot, which will collect all the data from the bot and help analyze it and produce some useful output, also it will be getting a CV (Using Raspberry Pi and camera module) which will help it in identifying different object while on the run and developing a self-understanding of things. Also, it is getting an upgrade which turns it into an eco-friendly beast, with the contribution of solar panels, and the unique use of piezoelectric plates.
