Inspiration
Seeing our friends' and teachers desktops cluttered with countless files just brought a tear to our eyes. We had to do something, our pride was dependent on it.
What it does
Jafo is a customizable file sorting application, allowing the user to visualize their files before they are sorted into appropriate folders.
How we built it
We used a combination of ElectronJS, NodeJS, and other assorted Node-based packages to implement and test our app. Throughout the process, we were constantly drafting wireframes on our whiteboard while communicating with each other on our ideas.
Challenges we ran into
There was a significant barrier in learning ElectronJS for this hackathon, however, we were able to make something wonderful by the end of it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Communication between all team members, more developed skills for us to focus on.
What we learned
Throughout the event, all of us practiced our CSS, communication skills, and overall planning for projects. There were many points where it proved useful to back away from the computer and just diagram things on the whiteboard.
What's next for Jafo: just another file organizer
Refactoring and organization of code, also making the CSS contain more global variables for us to generalize. Turning this css spaghetti mess into something ethical.
