Inspiration
A lot of the inspiration came from societal food insecurity and food indecision. Even if you're not someone that would maybe require this to survive, this would likely help a lot without needing you to fully dedicate yourself to a meal plan!
What it does
This is a food inventory/management application that gives recipes based completely off of the ingredients that you already have in your friends. It's extremely easy to use, and extremely easy to add more ingredients as you go!
How we built it
Using C# and MAUI for the frontend app, and some python magic for a flask server for the AI parts (handling receipt + photo data for fast inventory tracking) it all works nicely!
Challenges we ran into
Time crunch. There wasn't really nearly enough time to implement everything fully and properly - a couple of us stayed up entirely all night for this.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to somewhat finish some sort of prototype, and we're able to convey our ideas across!
What we learned
A lot about managing projects, scope, and thinking of revolutionary ideas!
What's next for Jackfruit
Perhaps we'll take this idea up and scale it to other horizons in the future!
