Inspiration
If artists want a platform that is sharp, respectful, and represents their passion.
and the generative art and 1:1 NFT landscape is growing exponentially
where in the Cosmos ecosystem would these artists be proud to call home?
The Problem
A generative or 1:1 artist doesn’t want their masterpiece displayed beside a 10k PFP collection.
Artists deserve to have their work secured by a decentralized storage layer.
There is no bespoke platform in Cosmos to capture value from this market.
The Solution
Slate: A beautiful platform for artists to call home.
What it does
Slate is the pioneering platform empowering artists and collectors to unleash their passion for generative masterpieces and one-of-a-kind NFTs. It has an NFT studio to create and will soon have a marketplace to list, buy, and sell masterpieces on the Neutron blockchain.
How we built it
Deployed NFT contract on Neutron.
Built a Golang backend that would accept file uploads and put them onto Jackal.
Built a front-end that deploys new NFT smart contracts for the user and mints the first token with the Jackal image data.
Challenges we ran into
- Little Neutron documentation, needed to use 3rd party docs.
- Cosmwasm was tricky.
- Getting Neutron's testnet set up was a pain.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- It worked!
- UX feels pretty good.
What we learned
- How to set up Neutron's testnet.
What's next for Slate
- Build the marketplace.
- Use interchain accounts to hook directly into the Jackal Protocol for artwork data storage in perpetuity.
- Launch Slate on Neutron mainnet.
Phase Two Development Update
- Launched a bare-bones NFT marketplace contract.
- Started integrating the marketplace contract with the existing NFT contract.
Phase Two Next Steps
- Create a contract to deploy new NFTs instead of the user for full integration with the Jackal Protocol.
- Interchain accounts to enable fully on-chain storage instead of middleware.
- Fully integrate the launchpad into the interface with the ability to buy newly launched NFTs.
Built With
