Jack-o'-lantern

Inspiration

Once upon a time, there was a little pumpkin named Pat. Pat lived in a big field with his pumpkin friends. He was round and orange.

Pat always dreamed of being special. One day, a little boy named Tom came to the field. Tom looked at all the pumpkins. He picked Pat!

Tom took Pat home. He cut a happy face on Pat. He gave Pat two triangle eyes and a big smile. Then, Tom put a bright candle inside Pat.

"Wow!" said Tom. "You are a beautiful Jack-o'-lantern!"

On Halloween night, Pat sat on the front porch. He glowed in the dark. Children came to the door and said, "Trick or treat!" They smiled when they saw Pat.

Pat smiled back. He was very happy. It was the best night of his life.
