Inspiration

We realised that the waiting time to collect medicine at a hospital was extremely long, that was caused by the staff having to spend time finding and packing the appropriate medications for patients. Hence, we decided to develop an efficient solution for NUHS, in hopes that our solution can solve an existing issue in hospitals. We also felt that with the pandemic, there was a lack of staff to cater to every patients' needs. Thus, with the help of AWS services, we think that having an extra helping hand would be extremely useful when saving time to deliver medications to patients. This could also mean that there will be more beds available as faster delivery of medications allow patients to leave earlier.

What it does

Our solution is actually a robot with wheels and a robotic arm. It is an improved idea of those already on the market.

How we built it

We built our project based on our first hand experience and other existing ideas like ttsh.

Challenges we ran into

Materials: We do not have sensors. We also have limited time and knowledge of AWS services.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We had a rocky start as we were busy trying to find time to come together but we are proud that we managed to complete everything in time.

We are also proud of being only 17 year olds, but still being able to help the healthcare sector which has been under so much stress lately, especially with the pandemic.

What we learned

From this experience, we learnt how to create a level 2 data flow diagram, and we were able to improve our teamwork as we went along from coming up with solution ideas, to making of the slide deck and video.

What's next for JAC for NUHS

Once we get selected for the next phase, we will be creating the robot prototype, and changing it to use sensor detection, so there is no need to scan anything. This way, our robot can just automatically detect the locations.
