Inspiration
- The theme for this hackathon inspired me a lot. Really loved the theme. I started to think out of the box to create something which is fun to build as well as fun to play with when the end product is ready.
- Also, I wanted to build a hack dedicated to my audience of Joker Fans :) This hackathon gave me that opportunity.
What it does
- This is a responsive face filter built which tracks the face and reacts to different facial gestures. ## How we built it
- This project is built using the Spark AR framework provided by Facebook.
Challenges we ran into
- Time crunch :( Literally writing this at the last moment, 5 mins prior to submission.
- I wanted to polish the end result a bit more and add more features to the project but ran out of time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- I am proud, astonished, and amazed with the end result. It's really amazing what Augmented Reality is capable of doing.
What we learned
- I learned a lot in the span of these 48 hours. What an adrenaline rush it was!
- I researched and learned about Augmented Reality and how to implement it.
- I learned a bit of texture crafting, object/model creation, and some photoshopping.
- I also learned about visual scripting which is a really cool way to build a project using blocks of interactive code without writing much of the code. It saved me a lot of time.
What's next for J0K3r-C1U8
- Add interactive changeable virtual backgrounds for the subject.
- Add more interactive features which rely on face/head/eye tracking and facial gestures.
- Add a voice changer.
- Add support for green screen/chromakey
- Publish the effect on the Facebook/Instagram AR hub to make it globally available to everyone.
