Inspiration

The rise of AI and its ability to mimic human behavior has always been a fascinating yet concerning topic. We wanted to explore a future where the line between artificial intelligence and humans is blurred. Inspired by social deduction games, cyberpunk themes, and psychological thrillers, we created J-2085—a game where players must outsmart AI or become indistinguishable from them.

What it does

J-2085 is a web-based multiplayer strategy game that challenges players to either detect AI among humans or disguise themselves as AI to survive. Players choose between two roles:

Red Pill (Hunter/AI Detective): Identify and eliminate AI bots before they take over.

Blue Pill (AI Impersonator): Blend in with AI, avoiding detection while manipulating human players.

Each round, during which players engage in conversations to analyze behaviors and deduce who is real and who is artificial.

How we built it

Frontend: Built using React.js for an interactive and immersive UI.

Backend: Implemented with Node.js and Express for real-time game interactions.

AI Simulation: Used machine learning models to generate AI-like responses and behaviors.

Database: Managed player data and game states using Firebase.

Design: Cyberpunk aesthetics and terminal-style UI enhance the futuristic theme.

Challenges we ran into

AI Realism: Making AI responses convincing enough to fool players but still detectable through strategic gameplay.

Balancing Gameplay: Ensuring fair play between AI and human roles.

Real-Time Communication: Implementing a seamless and lag-free chat system.
