Inspiration
Every Hajj, hundreds of thousands of Hajis suffer medically due to unavailability of medical services during peak times. At specific times & places during Hajj, a multitude of places are completely inaccessible to Medical Volunteers due to the crowd density. A simple, logical solution to this problem is the usage of drones to deliver essential medical supplies.
What it does
rifd or رفد in Arabic means to aid/assist. Our application assists Hujjaj with respect to medical services. A haji in need of a medicine will use our services to have the lifesaving medicine delivered to him through a drone.
How we built it
We are using a multitude of platforms to build it, including ROS, MavLink, Android Studio, Web App Technologies. The current submitted code includes the Github Repo for the Android app, before the next submission, a webapp will also be uploaded to the repo.
- The existing code before the hackathon (APIs, open source,): Open Source Libraries include KenBurnsView, GpsTracker among others.
- What has been created during the hackathon: Android App Code Available on Github. https://github.com/Abdullatif64/Rifd
Challenges we ran into
Unable to use port forwarding on Hackathon LAN. Greatly impedes our ability for a nice demo.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The successful delivery of android app and web app is a huge success. Our idea might be thought by other people, but we are able to implement it.
Built With
- android-studio
- arduino
- javascript
- mavlink
- php
