The inspiration behind this project was the high price that comes with getting new products here in Rwanda, as such, this project came as a way to enable people to get products at second-hand value which is cheaper compared to new products.

What it does: What we built for actually in this project is the lack of transactional trust in the second-hand products marketplace, as such, we built an escrow system to tackle this lack of trust. With the escrow system, a buyer interested in a seller's product would make a payment, which goes into the escrow account, the seller gets notified that their payment has been made and is in escrow and they'll be prompted to initiate delivery. The moment the buyer confirms the receipt of the product and is satisfied, the payment leaves the escrow account to that of the seller's mobile wallet.

How we built it: We built this project using Figma for the product design, HTML, CSS and JavaScript for the frontend development and Nodejs, Cloudinary and MongoDB for the backend development.

Challenges we ran into: One major challenge we faced was getting both buyer and seller into the platform without authentication considering we only just focused on the escrow system but we were able to figure it out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: This would be us being able to come up with and build the escrow system to tackle the lack of transactional trust.

What we learned: The major thing learned during the course of this project is the value of research, considering the time factor, we believe proper research would have enabled us to discover more opportunities that we could have leveraged.

What's next for Izera: The next thing for Izera is to do in-depth market research to discover more opportunities that we can leverage.
