Rendezvous

Rendezvous is a platform designed to help people connect together online. One of Rendezvous's features is a web app that is designed to aid with domestic and international meetings across time zones. Due to corona virus, it is impossible for people to fly to the same location for a meeting. This app finds the best time ranges for people in different time zones to meet online.

Inspiration

We were inspired to make this app from a problem we experienced personally. We live in different time zones, and we also have friends scattered throughout different continents, so finding a time when we can all meet up together is difficult. This problem inspired us to make Rendezvous, so that other friend groups, or even business colleagues, can have an easier time scheduling get-togethers.

The process

Originally, we intended to use Flask as a framework to use python with the website, but then realized this was unnecessary, so we removed it and used Javascript instead. We had plans to show multiple possible time slots, but did not have time to fully implement this feature. The code is in this submission, but has been commented out.

The struggle

This was our first time making a fully functional web app with Javascript, so this project was a learning experience.
