The major challenges we are facing in shipping and logistics industry and that is "End to End tracking" across the supply chain. When we really talk about end to end tracking it means capturing product/goods information right from the manufacturer's shop till it gets delivered to the buyer. Although container tracking is possible today as many supply chain actors publish container events but the businesses don't necessary think in terms of containers - they think Purchase Orders and also very often a shipment is LCL (Less than container load) so there is a need for a tracking solution that bridges the gap between the Purchase Order and container and offers all participants a level of transparency that does not exist today!
As a consumer or a business entity tracking the location of goods and their estimated arrival times is very important. There are two three major reasons for this:
- business owners get higher customer satisfaction when they provide end to end visibility.
- businesses get better insight into bottlenecks which cause delays and hence losses . Tracking  provides them opportunity to improve these bottlenecks or plan in advance.
