Inspiration

Travelers often rely on scattered blog posts, outdated guides, or generic trip apps. We wanted to create something community-driven — where people can share, discover, and trust real itineraries, and actually improve them through ratings and feedback. Think of it as the Goodreads of travel.

What it does

Itinerate lets users browse itineraries by destination, view trip details day-by-day, rate them with stars and category feedback, and leave reviews. It’s also social — users can like, comment, save, and follow others, creating a feedback loop that improves itinerary quality over time.

How we built it

We designed Itinerate using Figma with a focus on clean, intuitive UI and strong UX flows. We prioritized accessibility, modularity, and microinteractions. The prototype simulates the full user journey from discovery → itinerary → rating → social engagement.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing minimal design with rich features was tricky. We had to make the rating flow powerful, yet not overwhelming. Deciding how much social functionality to include without cluttering the experience also required several iterations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of how seamless the feedback and review system feels — rating itineraries is both simple and meaningful. We’re also excited about how intuitive the experience is for both planners and casual users.

What we learned

We learned how impactful a strong UX foundation can be when designing for trust and community. Feedback from users helped us refine details like rating categories, review prompts, and navigation structure.

What's next for Itinerate

We plan to add collaborative itinerary editing, a reward system for top-rated users, and explore AI-powered recommendations. We’re also aiming to test with real travelers and potentially build out a working MVP.
