Inspiration
Trip itinerary websites:
- https://apassionandapassport.com/3-days-in-tokyo-itinerary/
What it does
- Itinerary is a mobile app where users can find and search for trip itineraries
- Available Itineraries are created and added by users of the app
- Users can favorite and save Itineraries in a Notebook
- They can also follow other users to see and stay up to date on the itineraries other users create
- The Itinerary app is intended to make trip planning easier and and more streamlined
- The app is also intended to make traveling easier by having itineraries and activity options available in one place rather than users having to go between different websites when planning their trip.
- Itinerary gives frequent travelers an outlet to showcase the trips they go on and share with others the available sites and activities in cities and countries around the world
How we built it
- I first started by outlining app feature requirements and sketching low fidelity wireframes
- I then designed and built the high fidelity designs in Figma
Challenges we ran into
- Creating all parts of the app (idea, wireframe, high fidelity designs) as just one person
- I went back and forth on what font type and overall color scheme to use. This was the part of the process where I was the most indecisive
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- I think the app is simple to use and straight forward while still being visually compelling
- It is an app that I would personally use
What we learned
- The importance of grids to create a uniform structure and look
What's next for Itinerary
- I want to add a rating system and commenting feature for individual itineraries. That way users can rate the usefulness of an itinerary and comment their opinions.
