Inspiration

As a consumer we want to know more about the products we consume and support. The products we consume greatly effect our health and environment so when we learned about blockchain's decentralized protocol's we immediately went to brainstorm mode.

What it does

Our SaaS platform monitors the supplychain throughout it's lifecycle and with a carbon footprint calculator API integrated, we can determine the carbon footprint between each step in the suppychain. Our goal is to have a consumer facing application to be used at the point of sale with a QR code, RFID or NFC chip. Products will have a digital token from the beginning of the supplychain that will be transfered to the consumer. The new form of a receipt will be this digital certificate of authenticity that includes the carbon footprint of the product along with basic info like where and when it was sold.

Challenges we ran into

We were all new to hyperledger and were not able to get the restful api hooked to our front end for the Regulator view.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our team just met for the first time. We work well together.

What we learned

We learned how to integrate more sustainable features into our platform. the carbon foot print analysis was a great team discovery!

What's next for itemsPlatform

We plan to form a company and pursue this project.
