It Takes You was created as an experiment in blending horror storytelling with the evolving power of AI filmmaking. The goal was to craft an emotionally grounded, cinematic short that explores fear as an inner force rather than just an external threat.

how i built

The film was built using the cutting-edge ecosystem of Arcana Labs, where I combined multiple tools to achieve a cohesive visual and auditory experience. MidJourney was used for stills, while Flux Kontext helped maintain visual consistency across frames. For motion, tools like Kling 2.1, Luma Ray 2, Veo 3, and Hailuo 2.0 within Arcana Labs played a vital role in bringing the story to life. To ensure a natural and uniform voice performance, I used ElevenLabs to get consistent voices as well as sound design, Udio for music, and for editing and post-production, CapCut and Photoshop became essential for fine-tuning visuals and color balance.

challenges

The biggest challenges were maintaining character consistency and color grading stability across different AI generations. Through careful iteration and the flexibility of CapCut’s color tools, I was able to resolve these issues and achieve a cinematic look that felt unified.

what i learnt

This project taught me how to direct across multiple AI systems — balancing prompt engineering, motion realism, and storytelling tone — to bring a cohesive horror experience to life through technology.
