Please consider this solution to “blocking” robocalls. I may be misinterpreting the fact that the FTC is accepting “technical” – type submissions and potentially years and years of implementing such technical electronics when there are significant tools already in place. My simpler proposal will 1) employ current “technology”, 2) create jobs 3) restore trust to Americans 4) roll out in a much shorter time span than any technology. 5) put an end to Robocalls. Wa-lah!
Simply stated, whereas unsolicited telemarketing and robocalling are already illegal and subject to fines, and whereas the FTC and DNC bureaus already have complaint data collection software in place, I propose this is simply about adjusting a law, giving power to the people and holding the utility/phone companies responsible for the companies they allow to register, obtain and make use of their phone numbers
First of all, it should be a federal felony to transmit a phone number which is a misrepresentation of: a. The phone number from where the call originates b. The company name Secondly, the “laws” that are already in place for telemarketing, should be enforceable by the federal government t and punishable as a federal offense.
