Inspiration
The main inspiration came from foreign countries where they've tried to solve a problem of having unsatisfied citizens for whom was really hard to communicate to their town hall / government. Another inspiration was Czech website https://www.zmente.to/ that we found not effective (Prague only, only complaints — no citizen participation, bad feedback, bad marketing, old-fashioned website).
What it does
It is a portal for public suggestions and complaints about the city improvement. Others can vote (upvote/downvote system) for complaints they consider important and relevant and offer a help.
How we built it
From a scratch, building our own idea, doing public research, creating user-flows, wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes. After that we implemented our own CMS and front-end.
Challenges we ran into
Creating our own CMS was harder than we thought at the beginning aaand small amount of time of course :slightly_smiling_face:
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a really useful website that is possible to use in all Czech cities to improve local development. Also we made in human-centered, so that the users don't have problems with using it.
What we learned
Solving public/town related things is really not easy and proposed solutions have many caveats. Also, we are pretty good at web dev for newbies.
What's next for "It's also up to us"
To bring this to town hall.
