IT’S ALL THE SAME MAMBO is a music video that was made entirely out of randomness pulled from latent space. The audio and lyrics were generated using a completely random roll on Suno with minimal input. After several rolls, I chose my favorite track, and it sat on my computer for months until now.
The animations and video were all done entirely using Krea, from images I created locally with Stable Diffusion Forge, using a glitched prompt I accidentally stumbled upon that outputs completely random images, which I am able to tweak by varying Lora strengths. (My prompt doesn’t do anything -- only the Loras I add allow me to change the look.)
IT’S ALL THE SAME MAMBO is an absurdist, satirical, ironically philosophical piece about the collapse of human difference. It explores how all human activity, choice, and difference boil down to the same fundamental chaos or sameness. We try to impose meaning on physical objects (buckets, twigs, black balloons), and we pretend our choices matter, but it’s arbitrary.
In a way, the video itself mirrors that randomness: a jumble of images and sounds that somehow form a coherent experience despite having no predetermined meaning at all.
The video took about 12 hours to put together, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I had fun making it!
