I am a software developer living in Istanbul, a simple citizen. I do not work in any public institution, I am not an academic or a professional.

In accordance with the policy of openness and transparency of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, I will create a software that will be used by the public, free of charge, without membership and without advertising, with the data portal offered to the public, free of charge, and without copyright. In short, win-win philosophy.

For this, I will take care of every stage of the software and system (SSL, database, domain & hosting, design, publishing) without dealing with any bureaucracy, registration or official processes.

This will be a real example, a concrete project for open data philosophy and community developers. I don't believe it, I do it, I will do it.

Focus on the process, not the result..

It has been 1 year since my first mobile application, which I published on the Google Play Store on December 13, 2022. In this 1-year period, the practice on the first day is not the same as the practice today.

So what happened in this process?

-> The IP address of the server changed, the necessary preparations were made and the operation of the system was not interrupted.
-> Domain and hosting periods have been extended until 2027.
-> 5-year SSL was purchased and installed, it is now live.
-> The database has been designed and index structures have been added for query performance, and database maintenance is carried out at regular intervals.
-> User movements and data entries are recorded as logs.
-> Location sharing has been added, the user's current location is shown on the map.
-> Turkish - English - German language options have been added.
-> 5 different alternative map designs added.
-> Mobile notifications have been added to send reminders every weekday and congratulatory and holiday messages on special days.
-> The map showing outside the city of Istanbul has been disabled.
-> Error messages have been detailed and customized.
-> Improvements and optimizations have been made in the design.
-> Data security has been increased, system errors have been resolved.
