Inspiration

We were inspired by how many news sources can be unreliable and inaccurate, whether it is intentionally or accidentally.

What it does

Our app gathers news from multiple sources and verifies it. It also includes Islamic history, such as stories of the prophet or Muslim scholars. There is also a tab that allows user input of a URL, which is then verified and contrasted to Muslim past using sources such as the Quran and Hadith.

How we built it

We brainstormed multiple ideas and decided the most innovative idea. We used Claude to help as generate code and we saved the html file and input into VS Code. Then, we added additional features that we thought were necessary.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into were trying to run certain file types, such as .tsx files or node.js files. Also, trying to implement a backend to store google account data and saved news articles.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Implementing a webscraper and the gemini api to create the link verifier. Implementing the live news feed

What we learned

There are certain types of file types that won't directly run in your browser, such as server.js and you might need to use the terminal to run these programs

What's next for Untitled

Improving the verifier, fixing the save article functionality, and being able to use a database to properly store accounts and different types of user data
