Inspiration

"The inspiration behind Islan Club comes from a desire to create an immersive and dynamic gaming experience where players can not only engage in intense naval combat but also explore a vast open world. We were inspired by the potential of blockchain to bring true ownership of in-game assets and create a decentralized economy. The fusion of these elements, combined with cutting-edge 3D technology like three.js, provides a unique and innovative way to play and interact with digital assets."

What it does

"Islan Club is a 3D multiplayer NFT game set in an expansive ocean world. Players can engage in real-time naval battles, explore islands for rewards, and customize their ships using ISLV tokens. The game offers a decentralized economy with NFTs, allowing players to own, trade, and upgrade in-game assets, all while interacting in a dynamic, ever-expanding universe."

How we built it

"We built Islan Club using the Electroneum blockchain to ensure a decentralized and secure economy. For the game’s 3D graphics, we utilized three.js to create immersive environments and smooth interactions. Svelte was chosen for its efficiency in building the user interface, offering a seamless experience. Bun.js was implemented to improve the server-side performance and responsiveness of the game. We also integrated NFTs to enable players to have true ownership of their assets."

Challenges we ran into

"One of the key challenges was ensuring the smooth integration of blockchain functionality with the game's dynamic world. Ensuring real-time transaction processing without affecting gameplay performance was a hurdle. Additionally, creating an immersive yet accessible experience for players while managing a decentralized economy presented unique obstacles, especially with balancing tokenomics and game progression."

"We’re proud of successfully combining cutting-edge technologies to create a fully decentralized gaming ecosystem. The seamless integration of blockchain with in-game assets and the use of NFTs for true ownership are accomplishments we’re particularly proud of. Additionally, our team's ability to design and implement strategic naval battles and island exploration in a vast, open world is a major achievement."

What we learned

"Throughout the development of Islan Club, we learned a great deal about the complexities of combining blockchain with real-time multiplayer gaming. We gained valuable insights into the challenges of scalability, decentralized economies, and tokenomics. The integration of NFTs and in-game currencies also taught us a lot about how to balance virtual assets with player engagement, ensuring that the gameplay remains fun while also offering real-world value."

What's next for Islan Club

"Looking ahead, we plan to expand Islan Club’s world with new islands, enemies, and environmental challenges. We’re also working on implementing a clans and alliances system to foster community engagement. Additionally, we aim to enhance the NFT ecosystem with new collectibles and upgrades, and introduce events and tournaments with exclusive rewards. The long-term goal is to continue growing the game’s universe, providing players with a constantly evolving experience."
