Inspiration
The inspiration came for my love of numbers, I have another game called click and hit simulator where you basically just grab an object and gain coins, I really enjoy games where you have to grind to unlock things. so, I was thinking how can I make it fun, and the idea of island blade was born.
What it does
It provides a quick and easy way to quickly get in and get out whenever you want to grind coins. You get to fight 3 different types of Monster types alongside a BOSS that spawns at different intervals -Fire -Earth -Ice These Monsters drop 'Island Blade Coins' which you can then exchange for some really awesome swords to gain access to the other islands, it also opens up as a role-playing game if the group of people playing decide they want to do that.
How we built it
Blender/Substance Painter -I purchased rights to 3d models to help speed up the building process and making sure i have the rights to use everything for the comp, used blender to group and UV everything and then used adobe substance painter for texturing, VS CODE - For typescript Desktop Editor - I spent more time than usual in desktop editor compared to VR, making sure everything was good for mobile.
Challenges we ran into
Ran into issues with figuring out the HUD and making sure that it was Fully optimized for mobile as it's my first fully optimized world.
There were issues along the way with all the scripting as I had to challenge myself to learn new things
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Typescripts - I'm super happy to have been able to learn more about typescript which will help for future projects Importing - Keeping performance really good was a key point for me making this world, especially draw-calls, I learned more about texture maps and texture atlases, grouping objects together so they all use 1 single texture and used mentor sessions to ask questions Desktop Editor - Getting very used to it, which should help with future projects, i actually have another submission!

Lots actually -New Swords + Texture Swaps -Better Monster Animation and Monsters attack -a PVP island -New Islands
