What is the Chosen Theme and Problem Statement?

Safety, How can we ensure the safety of our personal property?

What does your hack do?

Lucky Finder helps locate and return lost items. It prevents data leaks by keeping the owners' and finders' information private. A QR, when scanned, will show the nearest Community Centre (CC) where the item can be dropped off at. The CC will do a private online form to indicate which CC the item is at. The owner will then receive an email or text detailing where to collect their items.

How does your hack answer the problem statement?

People would typically put their personal details on the items they consider valuable (eg phone no./email) in the event the item gets lost, and whoever finds it can contact them. However some may not be comfortable giving away their personal details out of fear of them being misused. Thus we created a system where the person who had found the lost item and the owner wouldn't need to give their own personal data to each other, and they'll be kept private, protecting both parties. This ensures the safety of their personal data as well as assets/belongings.

How we built it

Simply using Google Sites, we made a website with clear instructions on what to do for these particular stakeholders: The Finders and The CC / Police Post Staff

What are some difficulties we overcame?

We had to come up with a software that is both practical and easy to use.

What was our biggest learning point from LifeHack 2022?

learn to work as a team to achieve our goal
