Inspiration

As an international student myself, I remember the overwhelming hurdles I experienced with my colleagues before arriving at our schools: the endless research, the confusing applications, the document maze, and the uncertain visa processes. I realized that what every student needs is not just information, but a clear, personalized map to their future.

What it does

  • Creates Your Study Profile: Gathers your academic background, budget, country, and study preferences to understand your needs.
  • Recommends Best-Fit Universities (AI-Powered): Uses AI to instantly suggest a curated list of 5-10 global universities perfectly matching your profile and goals.
  • Generates a Personalized Application Plan: Builds a step-by-step, comprehensive to-do list covering everything from document preparation to visa procedures.
  • Provides Instant AI Task Guidance: Offers detailed, tailored help for any item on your plan with a single click (e.g., step-by-step document guides).
  • Offers Offline Access: Allows you to download your entire plan as a professional PDF for easy tracking anytime, anywhere.
  • Enhances Accessibility: Features a Text-to-Speech function to read your plan aloud.

How I built it

The app was built using the Google AI Studio App Builder and was deployed directly to Cloud Run.

Challenges I ran into

Achieving satisfactory results with prompting in AI Studio proved challenging. The application sometimes crashed or broke, requiring me to restore a checkpoint and retry with a more unambiguous prompt.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Fully deployed a functional app using Vibe-Code in AI Studio.
  • Built a solution designed to significantly simplify people's lives.

  • A deep understanding of how AI Studio functions.
  • The capabilities and limitations of Vibe-Coding.

What's next for IShub

  • Implement Sign-Up and Log-In features to enable greater personalization.
  • Integrate a database for data persistence, secure storage of user profiles, and tracking applicant progress/completed steps.
  • Add Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities using the File Search tool to provide better context (e.g., when users upload PDF documents like degree certificates and application materials).
