Inspiration
We noticed that professors had a difficult time taking attendance in large lecture halls. We wanted to find a way so that they would be able to do this with ease and accuracy.
What it does
This technology utilizes facial recognition technology to attach a student's face to their ID number, so that they can sign into classes with just their face.
How we built it
We used node.js and python to create and utilize our facial recognition technology and firebase to contain all of our reference images.
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of difficulty in connecting the components together. Each one works individually, however they would not work properly if connected together
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we got to learn a lot about node and python, and we were able to create a minimum viable product for our facial recognition technology so that students are uniquely identified from their reference images.
What we learned
We created this project without any knowledge of facial recognition and limited knowledge of python. Many members also tried out node.js for the first time.
What's next for ISeeU
We hope to improve our product so that it will be viable for professor in the near future
