What it does Our project is an interactive simulator designed to combat financial fraud by immersing users in realistic phishing scenarios. It identifies users who might be more susceptible to scams and provides them with immediate, memorable lessons on scam detection—all without compromising their personal data. This proactive approach not only educates but also tests users with our Scam Detection Skills Test, reinforcing learning and improving scam awareness.
How we built it We built the simulator using figma
Challenges we ran into Since we were all new to figma, we struggled to get familiar with the software.
Accomplishments that we're proud of We are proud that we managed to churn out a piece of work by the end of the hackathon
What we learned Throughout the development process, we learned about the intricacies of phishing techniques and the psychological factors that make individuals susceptible to scams. Importantly, we learned that effective education on scam awareness requires not just information, but also empathy and engagement.
What's next for is kids Looking forward, "is kids" plans to expand the simulator’s capabilities to include more diverse and complex scam scenarios, covering various demographics and technologies. We aim to collaborate with cybersecurity experts and educators to refine our educational content and reach a wider audience. Additionally, we are exploring partnerships with financial institutions and educational bodies to integrate our simulator into broader consumer education programs.
