We were inspired by the theme of sustainability to create a project to help users know how to properly dispose of an item at hand. The project asks the user a series of questions to classify their object as recyclable or not. We coded this project entirely in C++ and utilized concepts such as user input, output, and functions. We also collaborated using GitHub. The main challenge we ran into was creating the questions and merging our code without error. An accomplishment we are proud of is completing our work within the time period and learning more about C++. In the future, we would like to expand on our project by turning it into an App or Website and incorporating a GUI. Another idea we would like to build upon is using AI to recognize pictures of the disposable items at hand, rather than having to type out all answers.
Is It Recyclable?
The premise for the project is to help you decide to recycle or throw away the item you are holding. Our goal is to reduce trash waste and help the planet by reducing, reusing, and recycling!
