Inspiration

We were inspired to create this project after seeing sustainability as one of the 4 core themes that this hackathon was looking for. All of us had taken an environmental studies class at one point in our education careers, so it seemed like the perfect thing to work on.

What it does

This website is a simple visualization of the different things that help contribute to greenhouse emissions and the different things that help prevent it.

How we built it

We built our website using a combination of different languages ranging from JavaScript, HTML, CSS and Jquery.

Challenges we ran into

As this is our first hackathon, there were so many resources at our disposal that it seemed daunting to even choose one. Ultimately, we decided to use languages that we were familiar in the past with and created something that wouldn't take too long, as most of us were still in the middle of studying for our midterms.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were proud to have finished our first project at a Hackathon as a team. We were really worried that we wouldn't have had enough time due to time constraints in our schedules.

What we learned

We learned about some new restrictions with Visual Studio Code had when dealing with multiple languages. Initially, we had no idea that there were so many languages supported by this IDE and we learned to use whatever was provided in the archives. We also learned about different ways of connecting all the files together and had them work in conjunction with each other, despite being different coding languages.

What's next for Irreversible

We had plans of possibly expanding on this project at a future date. We weren't able to get everything on our checklist onto the main screen, but we tried our best with all the time constraints in our schedules during midterm season.
