Inspiration

Our inspiration for this project started with wanting to work with the Oculus Rift and simultaneously emulate a popular superhero. One of our group members is an avid Iron Man fan and wanted to incorporate Iron Man into our project.

What it does

Iron Man Simulator is a first-person on-the-rails shooter that utilizes the Oculus rift (for vision control) and the Myo Armband (for motion control). Players attempt to destroy robots in a city setting by shooting missiles towards them.

How I built it

I used mainly Unity and incorporated the Myo and Oculus packages that were available for Unity. Blender was used to create some assets.

Challenges I ran into

Being just too damn fine. Also getting sleepy. And they ran out of sandwiches, but then they got more.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Arm tracking, emulating that arm in another environment.

What I learned

Blender, Unity, Myo, Oculus.

What's next for Iron Man Simulator

Better environment, better calibrated inputs, and an extended storyline.
