Welcome to IRIS, psychedelic visual alchemy. Stretching beyond the capabilities of Windows XP screensavers, IRIS intends to utilize the innate mathematical patterns of cellular automata for aesthetic purposes. Although IRIS may eventually be experienced in dance parties and/or christmas tree lights, it may also hypnotically induce your unconscious mind into an altered state of awareness.
The mathematics behind IRIS is a colorful scintillating variation of Conway's Game of Life, which ensues visual patterns reminiscent of visual snow, vaporwave and fractals. IRIS was implemented using VanillaJS and HTML5 canvas. In the future, IRIS hopes to be more interactive and flexibly adapt to different virtual environments.
