At first, I was thinking of making medical terminology easier to understand but that idea was too broad so I stuck with allergies.
What inspired me is my allergies. When I was younger, it seemed like I was allergic to everything and the biggest allergy was my grandma's dog. Growing up, I realized just how complex nutrition is and the advice we are given and I wish to make this process easier.
I built the project using Python in VSCode with some help of OpenAI and Streamlit. I used an API key from Google Gemini that let me create a prompt in my code and then forcing a response from the AI after correctly parsing the data into categories such as: High Reactivity, Mild Reactivity, and Safe Core Grocery List. The grocery list was to help swap out anything the user is allergic to with the recommended nutrition.
Moving forward, I wish to continue working on this project and I anticipate facing challenges with making the process more custom to the user and grabbing their specific data on their health.
